Detection of iPaq
Created: 2/19/2001    Updated: 4/25/2001
Q   When trying to get GetExtProperties values from my pocketPC, the browser stops at the testpage. Why is this? Is there anyway to catch what plugins there are on the pocket pc? Or at least it could be ignored and answered with "false".

A   Your BDF does not explictly have a definition for iPaq. Therefore it is being detected as a Netscape browser due to its cloned user agent string. BH is then sending it tests design for Netscape, which it cannot execute, and this causes the problem you are seeing.

This is a good example of why it is important to make sure you download BDFs on a regular basis either manually or automatically with the BDF Service.

To correct this issue, use your BrowserHawk Editor to download the latest BDF from cyScape.
