Cookie detection and new sessions
Created: 3/7/2001    Updated: 9/28/2004
Q   When the redirect is performed by the cookie check, does it create another session? I know it creates another hit on that page. If it does create a session, when is it destroyed?

A   No, the cookie check itself does not create another session. You should keep in mind, however, that if the user has cookies disabled, every page hit is treated by the web server as a new session. This behavior is independent of BrowserHawk. In this respect, the redirect issued by the cookie check would result in another session if cookies are disabled. Again, this is the behavior of the web server, as every page hit is treated as a new session with cookies disabled whether it is a BrowserHawk page or not.
