How does BrowserHawk interact with my web server?
Created: 4/25/2001    Updated: 9/28/2004
Q   How does BrowserHawk get the information for which browser is currently connecting. Does it interact with my web server in some way?

A   BrowserHawk runs as a server-side component. From your web script (such as classic ASP, ASP.NET, ColdFusion MX, JSP, or servlet page) you create an instance of the object from your script and then call various properties and methods to get the information you want.

For example, after creating an instance of the component from your script you can check the Browser, Platform, and SSLKeySize properties to find out the details for the browser hitting your site.

For basic examples of using the component from your web scripts see http://www.cyscape.com/products/bhawk/syntax.asp or any of the samples that come with the product.
