Version error with XceedZip.dll
Created: 3/18/2002    Updated: 6/25/2002
Q   When I try to run the BrowserHawk Editor I get an error that says the version of XceedZip.dll may be outdated. This used to work fine. What may be wrong?

A   XceedZip.dll is a third party component that cyScape licenses from another vendor for use in the BrowserHawk Editor.

As recommended by the vendor, this DLL is installed to your system directory. However a version conflict may occur if another software application you install on your server uses this component, but does not follow this recommendation to install in the system directory.

To resolve the issue, search your hard drive for all occurrences of a file named xceedzip.dll. Then check the version of each of these files, and note which file location has the greatest version number.

Once you have identified the file with the greatest version number, compare this version number to 4.5.80.0. If the XceedZip.dll with the greatest version number is equal to or greater than 4.5.80.0, then simply open a command prompt, cd to the directory where the XceedZip.dll with the greatest version number resides, and run "regsvr32 xceedzip.dll". This should resolve the issue.

If your XceedZip.dll file is less than version 4.5.80.0, then download version 4.5.80.0 and replace all copies of XceedZip.dll with this version. Then open a command prompt, cd to your system32 directory, and enter "regsvr32 xceedzip.dll". This should resolve the issue.
