Does the browser definition download work through firewalls?

Yes, BrowserHawk can be configured to pass through your proxy or firewall provided it supports basic authentication. When you run the BrowserHawk Editor for the first time the Setup Wizard will help you set up the necessary information for BH to talk through your proxy/firewall.
If you need to adjust these settings in the future you can access them by choosing Preferences and Options from the Special menu and then selecting the Download tab. See the BrowserHawk documentation for more information.
Another approach is to ask your system administrator if it is possible to open up the firewall for an outbound HTTP or FTP connection specifically to the cyScape BDF server.
If you are unable to use any of the above options and your Support and Maintenance is current, email support@cyscape.com and request that you be put on a list to receive BDF updates via email because of your firewall.
