Q   How do I update my browser definitions if I'm using BrowserHawk4J?

A   BrowserHawk4J is the JavaBean version of BrowserHawk. To download updates to the browser definitions you must use the BrowserHawk Editor.

The BH Editor is only available for Windows platforms. If you are running BH4J on a platform other than Windows, you will need to install a copy of the ActiveX/.NET version of BrowserHawk on a Windows machine.

Once installed, you download the latest browser definitions from cyScape using that machine. Once that operation is complete, you transfer the maindefs.bdd file from the Windows machine and overwrite your existing maindefs.bdd with it on your BH4J installation.

Alternatively you can email us at support@cyscape.com to request you be put on a list to receive updates to the browser definitions by email. This assumes that your Support and Maintenance is kept current.
