Can I use the x86 version on some machines and the x64 on others?
Created: 10/21/2007    Updated: 10/21/2007
Q   I’m running a production server on a 64-bit processor and a development machine on a 32-bit processor. If I download the x64 version for the production server, will I be able to install a 32-bit version on the development machine as well under the development license?

I note that you say the x64 version includes the 32-bit components, so I hope that this is the case but I just thought I’d better check.

A   Yes, you can certainly use the 32 bit version on some servers and the 64 bit version on others. The license keys are independent of the type of processor as well.

So for example you can use the same developer license on all your development machines, whether 32 or 64 bit. And the BrowserHawk code you develop and test with under 32 bit or 64 bit will run identically on your production server(s), regardless of whether the 32 or 64 bit version is used in production.
